Well I must say what a shame it is that such a fine figure of a woman has chosen to retire from our screens. I remember feeling a similar pang of disappointment when Sue Lawley made the same decision. A devastating blow indeed for distinguished gentlemen of taste and of a certain age, such as myself.
Some of my young collegues here at Eclectic House are rather taken with that young thing Sophie Raworth, but she is merely a silly, giggling girl and in no way a satisfactory replacement for the lovely Anna, who let it not be forgotten, appeared on the Kenneth Everrett show as did Angela Rippon on Morecombe and Wise before her.
I know by now that many of my readers expect me to close my article with a thinly veiled sexual innuendo or make a comment of an overtly prurient nature. However in this case, I will instead say only that my respect for the lovely Miss Ford rises way above that level, and I shall climb the stairs sadly to bed tonight armed only with my memories of her and a handkerchief.
