I'm the Daddy Now

The baby vote is a big slice and Blair's laid all his hands down already. It would be very unfair of him to expect Cherry to have any more. It could be that it works like an auction: whoever has their baby last, closest to the election, wins the game. Gordon Brown put himself in a very strong position with the birth of his baby, taking some of the sheen away from the Blairs whose own baby was brought into the world in the same tacky, publicity seeking way as the scummy Beckham's hideous and garishly named offspring. Tory leader, Michael Howard, is nowhere in this particular hand.

Meanwhile, Kennedy's baby is very well timed, and he's surely won this particular round. He's taking some time off from the campaign, but it's not like anybody's going to notice. The funny thing is that this represents the very best thing the Lib Dems can offer in terms of winning votes: a ginger baby.
